As of January 2022, iland is now 11:11 Systems, a managed infrastructure solutions provider at the forefront of cloud, connectivity, and security. For the most up-to-date product information and resources, or if you have further questions, please refer to the 11:11 Systems Success Center or contact us directly.
We commonly hear from our customers and reseller partners about the need to protect workloads across a wide spectrum of infrastructure, including:
- On-premises virtualization
- Physical
- Public cloud systems of all types
- Edge use cases
- Workstations and laptops
At 11:11 Systems, we are in a unique position of being at the forefront of cloud, connectivity, and security technologies, while at the same time, we are the industry leader at leveraging the full stack of products from Veeam Software to create a holistic backup and disaster recovery solution for businesses of all shapes, sizes, and needs.
To support the needs of those who have a reason for not wanting to manage a backup infrastructure, 11:11 is happy to provide a solution, based on our award-winning Cloud Backup environments, that allows for a policy-based system that is both globally distributed for data while centrally managed. This agent-based system supports Windows, Linux, and MacOS deployments that are appropriate for both automation as well as more traditional GUI installers.
There are a number of reasons to use Veeam agents powered by 11:11 Cloud Backup. First, our well-connected, secure environments are available around the globe, so you know that you can support your disaster recovery needs quickly, securely, and with no need to use up your own on-premises bandwidth and storage to protect your ever-expanding data footprint. In fact, for many cloud-based situations, you may choose to enhance security while driving down egress fees by leveraging cloud routers from our partner, MegaPort.
Second, an agent-based solution shares most of the same restore scenarios that you know and love from Veeam Backup and Replication, because the data is stored within our cloud in a consistent format that can be restored to any infrastructure. For example, a MS SQL server running in Microsoft Azure can be backed up to our storage, and then you can restore databases directly back to a MS SQL server, on-prem.
Finally, through the 11:11 console you will have a single management plane for all of your different types of workloads, be they virtual machine, hyperscale instance, physical server, or laptop. At a glance, you can see the number of agents you have being protected, the data consumption of each, and how many restore points you are managing of each system.
Getting Started
Getting started with this undertaking is quite simple, especially if you are an existing 11:11 Cloud Backup customer. While it is possible to use an existing provisioned tenant that you may already be using for a Veeam Backup and Replication backup copy it is a better design to go ahead and create at least one new tenant within the 11:11 Cloud Console for this task. If you are looking to protect a global set of applications, you may choose to create multiple tenants in different regions to align with your workload’s location and data sovereignty needs.
Once a tenant cloud repository is created, our success center document can walk you through the configuration of each of your backup agent types, as well as the management agents for those extending their flexibility by using 11:11 rental licensing for Veeam. As your backups complete, you will have visibility of the created files and jobs through 11:11’s console.
Regardless of where your workloads live, what operating systems or applications those workloads use, what retention and encryption needs you have, 11:11 Cloud Backup can be your centrally managed destination for your disaster recovery needs. We are constantly innovating to make this as well as our other services more streamlined and robust so be sure to watch this space for new capabilities!
