Cloud Adoption Across Europe Continues Apace

Cloud adoption

Editor’s Note: As of January 2022, iland is now 11:11 Systems, a managed infrastructure solutions provider at the forefront of cloud, connectivity, and security. As a legacy iland.com blog post, this article likely contains information that is no longer relevant. For the most up-to-date product information and resources, or if you have further questions, please refer to the 11:11 Systems Success Center or contact us directly.

While once perceived to be lagging behind their US counterparts in terms of cloud adoption, European businesses are catching up –  with IDC forecasting that Western Europe will be the second largest market after the US for public cloud services. While this increase is driven by the usual requirements for increased IT agility and reduced CAPEX spending on IT infrastructure, it is also increasingly being driven by the need for higher levels of IT security and resiliency. This week, 11:11 Systems responded to this increased demand with the launch of our new data center location in Amsterdam, the Netherlands to deliver secure cloud services including IaaS, DRaaS and Cloud Backup across Benelux and the wider EU region.

The 11:11 System’s expansion strategy has always been driven by customer demand. Just like their US cousins, European businesses have been struggling with recent increases in cyber attacks including ransomware and other natural and man-made threats to IT systems. We’ve all seen the headlines!  Added to this are a keen awareness of the requirements to meet EU data privacy laws – both on-premises and in the cloud – and the uncertainty over how these laws will play out after GDPR and Brexit. Against this challenging backdrop, European customers have a determination to adopt cloud services to ensure their businesses don’t miss out on the many benefits on offer.

With this new data center location, 11:11 is in a perfect position to meet this customer demand and help European customers navigate security and compliance challenges while leveraging cloud services. Importantly, 11:11 has developed a comprehensive channel program that will enable managed service providers, resellers and agents to take advantage of the burgeoning cloud services opportunity in Europe and drive value to small and medium businesses.

11:11 services delivered from state-of-the-art facility in Amsterdam will include IaaS for cloud hosting of virtual machines, Disaster Recovery as a Service and Cloud Backup. All of these services are accessible through our 11:11 cloud cloud console which provides visibility and ease of management to customers. Additionally, the 11:11 cloud has embedded advanced security features including vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, encryption and more as well as a compliance team ready to help customers navigate audits for industry requirements including the GDPR.

This is the start of an exciting chapter both for 11:11 and for our partners and customers across Europe and we’re proud to be meeting customer demand for secure cloud services across the region.
