Geneseo is using iland’s Secure Cloud Backup for Veeam and Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) solutions to help keep city-wide public works services including police, electric, water, waste, and roadway running and available at all times. iland is paving the way to Geneseo’s first move to the cloud, spurred by a major gas main break that forced an evacuation of City Hall and shut down services for hours.
After the incident, Geneseo IT Director Garrett Griswold initiated a search for a cloud service provider that supports the city’s current VMware environment and Veeam on-premises storage.
