IT Challenges facing Remote Business

Cloud computing is here to stay. In the past, applications and programs were downloaded onto a physical device or machine in your building, cloud computing now allows people access to the same applications through the internet. One aspect of cloud computing has become increasingly crucial and popular: cloud backup. Cloud backup uses cloud computing resources and infrastructure to create, edit, manage, and restore data, services, or application backups.

Many businesses are migrating to cloud backup solutions because of the benefits that it provides to businesses of any size and industry by increasing convenience, affordability, and ease of use. Many businesses are evolving away from the traditional approach of office-based workers to remote models that see employees working from home or on the move. For many organizations, there can be benefits gained from remote working, from increased worker productivity to reduced levels of stress. With technology connecting more people and making things more accessible, the future is likely to be built around remote businesses, using more cloud technologies and having to back up and protect more data.

IT challenges facing remote business.

There are still IT problems facing business with remote employees. Cloud backup can help address these problems. One of the main problems of running a remote business is that there is an increased chance of business data being lost—such as losing a laptop. Lost laptops are a billion-dollar business problem. The loss is potentially compounded by the loss of the sensitive data residing on it. In addition, what if you are using tape backup for all of your data? With the tape backup option, your information is stored locally. This makes it easy to access, should your network crash or a current computer hard drive fail on you, but what if no one is allowed in your data center or at the place where you are storing your tapes? Cloud backup gives you greater security and accessibility for all of your critical data and alleviates these types of backup challenges. Because your data is stored in the cloud, you can access it no matter what happens.

Reducing recovery time.

In addition to this, another problem facing remote businesses is an increase in recovery time—which is costly for business. Cloud backup can help address this problem. For a recovery from tape, someone would need to recall the tape, load it, locate the data, and recover the data. Conversely, file recovery from cloud storage is faster, and doesn’t require physical transport from the offsite location, tape handling, or seek time. Files to be recovered are located and streamed over the WAN connection, saving time and eliminating the need for a local tape infrastructure.

Predictable cloud pricing.

Another problem facing remote businesses is that there is a relatively large cost associated with hosting backups, both hidden costs and explicit costs. Cloud backup can help address this problem. Cloud backup provides scalability without the need for additional capital spending. Businesses can leverage the scalability of a third-party cloud provider without the upfront capital expenditure. In fact, the pay-as-you-go model significantly reduces the procurement and provisioning headaches for backup. This approach allows for predictable management of capacity growth and operational costs.

Secure, compliant cloud.

Remote businesses also face the problem of ensuring backups are reliable and secure. Cloud backup can help address these problems. Cloud providers use state-of-the-art technology, such as disk-based backup, compression, encryption, data deduplication, and a wide array of other features. In addition to the security that accompanies the certification, many providers offer 24×7 monitoring, management, and reporting—features and capabilities that may not be afforded by many companies otherwise. So there is no need to worry about upgrades, migrations, or technology obsolescence. The burden of the backup infrastructure lies with the service provider.

Help is here.

11:11 Cloud Backup integrated with Veeam Cloud Connect technology offers an easy and cost-effective cloud solution for your offsite backup and archiving needs. With direct integration and 100 percent compatibility with Veeam’s industry-leading Backup & Replication software, you can implement your next offsite backup strategy with the security and confidence backed by 11:11 System’s industry-leading Cloud platform. 11:11’s global cloud platform provides the automation and orchestration necessary to protect your critical business workloads with the peace of mind that comes from our ability to meet your offsite backup and archiving goals from design through to implementation. Your business currently needs to ensure that there is the necessary security and availability for your data. One way to do this is to ensure that there are regular, secure backups of the data, preferably offsite in case of disaster, and multiple copies of the backup data, to increase built in redundancy. 11:11 Systems is here to help.
